Despite having a generic name, this artwork is very dear to my heart and holds lots of meaning. This painting was created during my son’s naps. I became a mum recently, and wanted to paint something that reflects my new journey.
It means being made anew, piece by piece, until you’re a better version of yourself. That comes with lots of facets of your new self. Some are smooth and kind and calm, some rough and mad and selfish. But one cannot exist without the other.
I love ultramarine blue. I bought this color on my trip to Greece, from a local store in Athens. I have always kept it for a special occasion. This was the occasion. The blue symbolises the water, the water that is used in a baptism ceremony.
